Chemistry Benchmark¶

In this Test, we compare a ProDiMo 0D molecular cloud chemistry model to the results of the [rate13] code (UMIST 2012 Code, download not available any more). The physical setup is representative for the TMC1 molecular cloud and is described in detail in McElroy+ (2013).

This is a pure gas-phase chemistry test and the underlying chemical network is UMIST2012. We use the same H2 formation rate in ProDiMo as used in rate13 to achieve a better agreement. This figure, BM_UMIST.pdf, shows a comparison for a selection of species. The maximum deviation in the chemical abundances is always < 10% at all times/ages.
