Adapt chemical data files¶

Sometimes it might be necessary to change certain data used in the ProDiMo chemistry module. For example, one might want to use updated rates in the Chemical Databases such as UMIST or KIDA.

Most data for the chemistry used in ProDiMo is in the data/ChemicalNetwork directories. If you want to change one of those files (e.g. UMIST2012.dat) because you want to try a new rate, you can simply copy it to your current model directory (working directory) and edit it. ProDiMo will first search for the chemistry data file (e.g. UMIST2012.dat) in the current working directory and only if the file is not found it will search in the data/ChemicalNetwork directory.

This is done for almost all the files in data/ChemicalNetwork that are used in ProDiMo ... but there might be some missing. In case you find one please report it to one of the ProDiMo developers.
