Theoretical Stellar Input Spectra¶
To model the emission of the central star ProDiMo includes theoretical stellar photosphere grids from PHOENIX and Kurucz.
The stellar spectra are at Solar metallicity.
PHOENIX¶
The standard PHOENIX spectra are from Brott+ (2005). Additionally also the so called Drift-Phoenix spectra for low mass stars (brown dwarfs) are included.
Drift-Phoenix models¶
They are from http://svo2.cab.inta-csic.es/svo/theory/newov/index.php, and have been converted from erg/cm2/s/A to erg/cm2/s/Hz/sr. Included models are:
- Teff 1000 - 3000 K,
- logg 3 - 6
- metallicity: 0
The model with Teff = 2500 K and logg = 3.0 is missing.
To use them turn on the option
.true. ! use_drift_phoenix
and ProDiMo will prefer to use those models where possible. For M6 to L6 spectral types they might give you more accurate stellar spectra.
